Collagen Booster
What is it for?
From age 25, we lose 1% of our collagen per year, which means that the skin loses its firmness and elasticity. This makes it thinner and results in fine wrinkles, a double chin and sagging skin. The body also reabsorbs bone and fatty tissue, and what remains falls downwards due to gravity. As a result, the cheeks sag, the pores appear larger and deeper wrinkles appear with age.
A collagen booster improves the quality of the skin by boosting its collagen production, making it thicker and firmer. Volume is also built up (face & body). You will look younger and radiant again.
What do I have to consider before treatment?
-
Blood thinners should not be taken until 1 week before the treatment (e.g. Aspirin, Marcoumar, Ibuprofen, etc.)
-
Avoid caffeine/tea and alcoholic drinks (e.g. cola, energy drinks, coffee, green tea, etc.) 24 hours before the treatment.
-
It is best not to put make-up on and be well nourished for the treatment
-
if you suffer from herpes, we recommend taking antivirals prophylactically (these can be purchased from us or prescribed by your GP)
How does the treatment work?
- Photos are taken.
- An anaesthetic cream is applied (face, neck, décolleté).
- After the application time (approximately 40 minutes), we mark the area where the product will be applied.
- The puncture site of the cannula is anaesthetised with a local anaesthetic.
- The product is then injected under the skin in a fan shape.
- Finally, a massage is performed so that the product is well distributed.
Risks and side effects
- Common: redness, swelling and haematoma (bruising), pain, feeling of pressure and tension
- Rarely: Nodule formation (risk increased if massage is not performed after treatment), asymmetries, infections, herpesactivation
- very rare: Allergy or anaphylaxis, tissue death (necrosis), blindness (when treating the face)
Contraindication
Age under 18 years, pregnancy/lactation, flu, cold, acute skin diseases in the area to be treated (e.g. acne, herpes), previous PDO thread treatment/biopolymer or silicone injections in the body region to be treated, intolerance/allergy to the products used (e.g. PLLA, mannitol, local anaesthetic), known anaphylaxis, antibiotic or cortisone therapy, acne medication up to 6 months before the planned treatment (e.g. Roaccutane, Tretinac, vitamin A).
Please note: the effect of the treatment is reduced by nicotine and stress.
